Funeral Assistance

SECURING YOUR FUTURE
Funeral assistance will be provided to members who are facing financial difficulties caused by the death of immediate family members and to assist in acquiring the immediate requirements for burial or cremation of their recently deceased family member.

Guidelines
a) Assistance is for the member’s next of kin, spouse, children, brother, sister, parents.
b) The amount applied for must be within Partial withdrawal.
c) The maximum withdrawal permitted is FJ 1,500 for each funeral. (Conditions apply)
d) Payment is made direct to the member.
Documents to be submitted with application
The member must apply using the Application Form FNPF W30/3 and the Additional Funeral Assistance Form
Certified copies of the Notice to the Undertaker or Medical certificate of cause of death, stamped and signed by the hospital medical superintendent/Senior Divisional Medical Officer prior to burial/ cremation.
Police Order for Burial
Evidence of relationship of deceased to the member e.g 'original' Birth Certificate and/or Marriage Certificate.
Evidence from the member’s Bank confirming the member’s bank account number for payment deposits
⇒ $20 fee
Any application that does not meet the above criteria will not be accepted.
Method of Payment
Payment is made direct to the member’s bank account.

Timeframe for Processing
Satisfying all the qualifying criteria, payment will be made within three to five working days of the submitted application.
