Students who are registered will come under FNPF’s Voluntary membership. The FNPF Mobile Registration Drive pilot to schools will involve all secondary school students around Fiji from age’s 16years and above as our MRD pilot project was launched in August Showcase 2003. After a three-month drive the MRD Team had registered 2483 students from 37 schools, around Suva, Ba, Lomaivuna and Baulevu.
FNPF is thankful for the support rendered by the Ministry of Education and Principals involved in this pilot project for their assistance in the logistics and organization of this large-scale project. We will continue to need such support as we intend to cover the 30,000 students around Fiji.
The “Mobile Registration Drive” is aimed at widening FNPF coverage therefore the MRD Team will now pursue to register those employed in the informal sector, and tertiary institutions to extend coverage to those who do not enjoy the benefits of being an FNPF member.
Benefits would include:
- An authentic FNPF ID Card for students (new members) before entering permanent employment;

- Upon contribution FNPF would deduct $35per annum as premium to buy the Special Death Benefit cover (SDB) - a sum of $8,000 which would be paid in the event of a member’s death to nominated persons;
