Both the employer and employee contribute equally to the Fund. The contribution rate is 8 cents for each dollar earned, with the employer and employee contributing, totalling 16 cents.

Each FNPF member is given a 7-digit account number upon registration, and is issued with a membership card on which the account number is shown. This account number will be used as the means of identification for the duration of his/her membership until retirement at age 55.
