Mr Olota Rokovunisei said the FNPF has been working for the past three years to develop a health plan for its members.

“We have recently received a report on a feasibility study that we are now reviewing,” said Mr. Rokovunisei, CEO and General Manager of the FNPF.

He said that it is FNPF’s mandate to look after the members’ interest and recent reports that have linked the Fund to the Ministry of Health and its proposed health scheme “are without basis.”

“If the feasibility study regarding the FNPF health plan proves positive then we will fully consult our stakeholders to ensure that it is acceptable to our members,” he said.

Mr Rokovunisei wished the Government well in its pursuit of its health insurance scheme, but reiterated that their efforts have nothing to do with the FNPF.
